This amuses me. I was working in I.T. back when WMWare was selling perpetual licenses + support and it was a hella good deal because everyone knew it was unsustainable for them to do that. I can see why the new owners are trying to climb out of that hole. I can also wee why Tesco is torqued, and they’re right. They have a contract and when you buy a company you buy ALL the legal obligations it has, not honour only the ones that make you money.
Someone at Broadcom either didn’t do proper due diligence prior to the sale (bad) or they think they can skate on this (worse). Tesco is going to clean their hoop in court.
