Suicide taking one's life

Over 500 deaths from suicide in Ireland each year is society to blame in some cases?

it’s not something i would ever consider. the voices tried to make me commit suicide years ago but it didn’t work at all obviously, lol. nah suicide just doesn’t appeal, however bad things get for me. i know they’d like me to but it’s just not going to happen. score 1 for the bealie! xxx

Though I feel suicide is a deeply personal act whose origin is mental illness, there are two things society does that I believe hinders people from getting help when they need it.

There is the prevailing belief in society that suicide is “the coward’s way out”. I think this makes people much less likely to admit they’ve been thinking about it or to seek help. Also, there is the idea that having deep emotional pain is a sign of weakness. In the case of men particularly, I think they don’t want to be seen as weak so they don’t speak up or seek treatment.

Also, my generation glorified suicide and self harm.

society can go fook its self

suicide is not a state of weakness…in my opinion it shows strength…
society is hardly a good judge of suicide;
we live in a racsist world
we have arguments on religion
we have climate change due to humanity’s stupidity
etc…etc…i could go on…

yet society has an opinion, that we should all listen too about suicide ?

human beings are fundamentaly flawed, stupid and ignorant…hence you are destroying the only planet you have to live on.
which by the way could be considered ’ mass suicide '.

Exactly.

Suicide is most often due to the work of others upon you.

This is not a true suicide at all.

I made a pretty weak attempt at suicide. I guess I pretty much got to the point of if I dont id regret not doing it in the future. How nonchalantly I often look at things And my fear of pain as well as my fear of what comes after death ultimately stopped me.

Kind of makes me think in a way Im already dead. I only exist because of my weakness.

I don’t think society has much to do with suicide other than causing such dramatic problems for people (such as bullying) that they can’t cope with it anymore and don’t know how to deal with it. Every time I picture society with suicide it’s usually painting a very negative view on the person committing it. I think of all those religious freaks that claim suicides are the greatest sins a person can commit and no matter how good they are in life if they commit suicide they will spend an eternity in Hell.

To me, if a person attempts or commits suicide they are reaching their lowest points in their lives, and cannot cope with the pain and suffering they are going through any more. I have fought suicidal thoughts and images from my voices and hallucinations, but have never actually attempted to commit it…but I guess that’s my fear of what will happen to my soul when I die and the fact that I don’t want to put my parents through the loss of losing me. Knowing my luck any attempt would fail and I would wind up in a hospital again…which is something I’m desperately trying to avoid.

this is just my opinion…
i do not condone suicide but nor do i look upon those who suicide as ’ cowards '.
this is said by people who have never been there and truly experienced the darkness that wraps around your soul, that shuts out all light…
society is afraid of those who are mad , sad, mentally ill…and would take their own life…
society is afraid of their own shadow…
they condemn those who would willingly go to the ’ shadows '…
