1.5 a day for 2 weeks to see how i respond
Welcome to the club @HuckFinn
I hope that it works out for the both of us.
Will you be updating us on how you are doing with it?
1.5mg will be my dose - I dont think that I could tolerate higher doses - it is kind of activating for me.
1.5mg is actually a therapeutic dose for schizophrenia - 3mg is the lowest target dose for bipolar
yeah ill say how it resolves as it comes along
It’s similar to Rexulti which is what I am on, but Rexulti is a modulator of the same receptors instead of an agonist, strictly speaking- it balances levels of D2 instead of always increasing them
But if you struggle with negative symptoms, Vraylar is a safer bet
what do you mean by “Activating”?
I mean stimulating
Would u say that rexulti or vraylar is more closley related to abilify in their mechanism of action
My doc described vraylar as an abilify type
Nice @shutterbug lol. The king and the duke reference good one
plz upate…???
I just started today. I’ll be keeping up
O.k man…!!!..
Are you considering a new med @far_cry0 ? So far i find this med calming
let’s see…!!!
Vraylar is. It is straight up activating while Rexuti is “modulating”, meaning Vraylar is going to make you more active while Rexulti MAY make you more active. Rexulti detects if you need more or less, Vraylar just gives you more (dopamine, they handle dopamine primarily).
This is what Vraylar (Cariprazine) basically does :
While the drug shares commonalities with many already-approved atypical antipsychotics, it also has several mechanistic differences. Like other antipsychotics, it modulates the neurotransmission of dopamine at various receptors (e.g. D2 receptors) to prevent positive symptoms of schizophrenia and manic symptoms of bipolar disorder. Unlike many older antipsychotics, it acts primarily upon D3 receptors and is capable of ameliorating negative symptoms of schizophrenia when dopamine levels plummet.
I’m keeping Vraylar on my radar, it might be my next med. (when it comes to Europe). I’m definitely watching how @Wave and yourself get on with it.
