Spanner in the works

I was meant to see my psychiatrist this Friday to get on to naltrexone.

I got a message today cancelling my appointment. I could only reschedule for August 19. That’s a long time to wait.

I have to see my gp next week to get an updated return to work certificate. Maybe I will ask if he can prescribe me naltrexone.

Sorry for any typing errors, a giant just crashed in to sit next to me on the tram home!

You should be at least a while sober before they can prescribe you right? Might be a good solution, keep your self clean meanwhile. Lollipops!

Lollipops ftw.

Just because one of my strategies kind of fell through doesn’t mean I have to give up on the rest of my strategies, right?

Time to wrest back some control of my life. Diet is how I will do that.

If you find that diet is too difficult, give it up for an easier time, don’t try to do all at once, it can backfire.

Lollipops ftw

I just read a godawful article about a woman with a heroin addiction who at one point started on naltrexone without being clean. I can link you if you like, but it’s harrowing.

But this is just to say, take this extra time to make sure that crap is out of your system before you go on naltrexone. And as @everhopeful keeps reminding you, if you do relapse, be kind to yourself and let your doctor know, so he can adjust appropriately.

Good luck, @anon84763962! I’m sorry that your plans got disrupted, but I trust you to roll with the punches :two_hearts:

Thanks @Rhubot. It sounds like it might be fortuitous that my appointment for naltrexone has been delayed!

It’s up to me until 19 August now. I’m going to prove myself worthy of my own trust and respect.
