Sorry to the forum/community

Hope I didn’t offend anyone with my last couple posts (costume posts)

I really had no idea that it was a racial slur against Romani people, or I never would have posted it

Now I guess I need to think of a different costume.

I didn’t know it was offensive either. I also apologize for offending people.

I think you could keep the costume and dress as a fortune teller

I’ll check it out. I noticed it’s locked.

ususally I think that’s to prevent other people from joining in.

Yeah I guess I’m just wondering how I could make it more fortune tell-y…

I think I have some ideas🙂

You can dress up as a fortune teller without appropriating Romani culture.

Lol

I’ll have to look some ideas up👍

You could totally still be a fortune teller. There are tons of different fortune teller styles. Fortune teller is a job, not a race.

Hah, that’s pretty funny.

I never thought of fortune teller as an occupation but I suppose that’s true😅

Dressing as a fortune-teller is a stereotype of the Romani people, so that’s out.

I think that probably depends on how the fortune teller costume ends up looking. There are fortune tellers/prophets/mystics/psychics in almost every culture. @Human would just have to find a style that worked for her culture.

Oh, good idea @Ninjastar

Try being a white fortune teller or witch. A long black skirt, flowing blouse, silver bangles and long silver earrings. Boom.

Yeah the only thing is I was a witch last year for Halloween

I’m looking up Norse fortune tellers/shamans to get some ideas… I live in America but my ancestry is mostly Swedish…
Is that okay…? Or no?

I think it doesn’t have to be scary. I remember in Halloween parties some girls dressed as a nurse etc
