I’ve always really liked and respected Billy Joel because he showed a soldier in a wheelchair to the video of this song, and I remember watching that video when I was very young. That left a big impression on me because around the same time the video came out my sister, who has spina bifida, was born.

Anyways I just always thought that was really cool.

I respect Billy Joel as well. Whether it’s the coalminer or the wounded soldier, he focuses on the emotional experience of people who are often forgotten.
