Someone I used to know is now earning $238,000 a year

I just found out and I feel crap. I should be happy for them. But I’m just jealous.

May I ask what they do?

It’s a trap comparing lives.

Bet they overwork themselves every day, have high stress.

It sucks we can’t do as much because of the illness, but I don’t think it should stop our contentment’s.

I would consider that high stress. Teaching is no joke. Who knows, maybe they aren’t happy.

Maybe they could be eyeing something you have, jealous, towards a greener grass.

Sorry it hit you hard.

Please don’t let others success bring you down by comparison. You’ve got a llama who thinks you are doing well with the cards you were delt.

How’s your luck usually?

I like to call mine devils luck, It’s not always good, and it’s not always bad, but it’s always extraordinary.

Hit with this illness is 1/100, might not be good luck, but it’s still luck.

Hope you win E.H. You deserve something nice

Lol.

Maybe the big winner.

Most I ever won on scratchers was like $50, I was able to buy my grandfather Chinese lunch. May not of been much, but it was good.

Many of my presz friends became Drs and make much more than 240 000$. One is a neurosurgeon, one is a pediatric Dr, one is dentist, one is a pharmacist, two are civil engineers etc My best friend that I ever had that I hanged out with from 10y.o. to 26y.o. is a cardiologist. Now I am 31y.o. I never had any other friend stay with me that long.

Honestly I am happy for them but what I am not happy about is that I know that I could have become a Dr, my dream job, as I had the grades before sz hit me. I finished organic chemistry 99%, Calculus 96%, French 86%, etc So yeah I feel like sh!t bcz I know 100% that I could have been a Dr if I never had sz.

But I am not alone, some users here on the forum were in medschool, got sz and couldn’t continue their studies. I forgot his username but now he works at home I think in advertising and web development.

I used to work in an accounting office and I saw the salaries of clients. There was a young girl making almost 600 000$/year, she’s an eye surgeon.

My ophthalmologist did my Lasik surgery in 5min and took 700$ cash per eye. Cash was cheaper! He’s not taxed on cash, thats why.

I’m jealous of all the people I knew from school and past jobs. They’re all working and doing well and I’m stuck living with my dad still at 31. I don’t know what I’m gonna do when my dad dies.
