So I finally broke down

I put myself out into a fight between my mum’s sisters - or my aunts.

Basically one of my aunts husband found it appropriate to ambush my mother and yell at her in front of my nan

There are two sides to this fight, and I am now backing my mother up

Should I have just kept my mouth shut?

I hate politics, but it hurts me seeing my mother so upset and keeping my mouth shut about it

I just told the trouble maker, who does now deny any wrong doing, that if this is all just hot air they need to sort it out otherwise it will just mean everyone loses out

I have a genuine dislike for hot heads. I have a sister and cousin who explode IRL all the time. I’m fed up with it. Maybe I should minimize my contact.

I’m in this situation with family as well. People just yelling at each other. I just stay calm. But I don’t know if that’s the best. I just genuinely dislike these situations and tend to avoid them.

I can see clear cut who’s driving a wedge between my 7 aunts. That’s why I just confronted the main perpetrator

I dislike it too, but to have a man get involved in an aggressive way to my mother has overstepped the line

My father had 13 brothers and sisters in his family. -1 because he killed himself when I was 3.

Luckily I have no contact with them

I have now ended the conversation.

Basically I said they need to sort it out and I have said my piece

Also, I told her not to be expecting to hear from me until it’s dealt with

Hopefully this will hit home that there are consequences to splitting us up

We’re a massive family and we used to be so close before Covid, then everyone has lost their minds
