The Claudelet perches like that on the back of a chair almost every evening and stares at me unblinking from across the room for about an hour. Then she sits up and loudly tells us about her day/berates us for our idiocy. I’ll see if I can get a picture of her doing it tonight.

Delayed reaction, but will kick in at any moment. My dog looks at my daughter, but lays close by me, she’s protecting both of us. They have that, it’s natural.
