Smoking and my illness

I have Delusional Disorder and anxiety (according to my therapist)

I observe that after Smoking I feel much more relaxed, focused and overall my cognition gets better.

Is it something to do with Nicotine ?. Is this a sign of something?.

can anyone comment?.

I think that, as with many things we doubt, a longterm consequence might be more important than short term relief.

And it is interesting how, when you quit smoking, and the withdrawal period passes, you will find that you can actually feel your stress instead of suppressing it and that it is the way of getting rid of it.
Its like with sugar addiction. Once you mentally ‘forget’ that depression can be treated with chocolate, you’ll find just enough pleasure when eating an apple or broccoli.

Well… I’m not so sure about broccoli.
