Sleeping and napping too much

On my days off from work I am sleeping 11 hours and then napping 3-6 hours during the day. The loss of drive and things-to-do may be part of the disease in my brain. However, I am not ready to give up to this condition and I hope it will resolve. I am trying to overcome this but also trying not to get depressed over it either. It’s been going on for a few weeks.
If I schedule something I am able to get up and do it. Boredom has something to do with my problem. I am not currently depressed.
My life is in such disarray because of this.

I guess it could be from meds…

I slept 10.75 hours last night and today. I sleep a lot too. But I wake up way too early in the morning. My pdoc doesn’t know what to do about that.

I sleep too much too, but I’m on 30 mg of Haldol and that’s a lot. I sleep 11-12 hours a night and then sometimes nap for an hour or two in the afternoon. I’m on disability, but even when I was still trying to work, I would go out to my car and sleep during my lunch hour. That was courtesy of 80/80 Geodon.

Before meds I could stay up late and run on 6 hours usually that was my norm. Now I’m always asleep around 10:30 and get 11-12 hours even if I wake early, plus like you I’ll nap part of the day too.

I sleep 12 hours I day, I can definitely empathize with the struggle. There is only so much hours in the day and we lose quite a bit  I just want my sleep study done and put on modafinil already. I still have to wait nearly another month before my consultation then I’ll hope for the best. I used to get by on 10 hours before my recent psychotic episode. Sucks, it is hard to get up even after 12 hours of sleeping

H4Y,

im sorry that you’re sleeping so much and that it’s causing distress in your life.

i too am noticing this, especially the past couple days, especially today, waking up at 4pm, not realising it was 4pm, wanting to go to my church, and do other things. it really hurts my day and me, because ive always started freaking out right as the sun starts to set. ive been like that since i was a kid. and now, if i sleep until shortly before the sun starts to go down, day is pretty much gone.

It’s hard to break the nap-sleep habit. If I don’t have a nap to bed at 1am awake 5/6 am ie 4-5 hours. If I do have a nap(2-3 hours) then to bed at 4am awake 8/9am ie 6-8 hours including the nap.
Either way at night I sleep about 4-5 hours.

U are punctual… keep it up firemonkey…!!!

Thank you all for answering. I have not had a recent change of medicine. My doctor is very slow in lowering my meds from my psychosis a year ago.
Thank you very much everyone for respecting my problem, understanding, and offering help. I believe it may just be a stage I am going through. Meanwhile, I will keep trying to find things to do.
I will be going out to eat some, I will try to read for a few hours, and I can always clean my apartment.
