Last night I had a 4 hour long episode of sleep paralysis ( on and off )
But I’m wondering if schizophrenia played a role in what all happened…
When I google sleep paralysis the symptoms are being unable to move, speak and hearing sounds. But for me last night it was all this paired with mumbling and a looming paranoia along with the feeling of being suffocated on and off. I recall trying to scream like I usually do when I get sleep paralysis but this time there was a clear voice telling me to shut up. Idk I think its pretty disturbing and it makes me afraid to sleep tonight. I guess my question is do you think this was just extreme sleep paralysis or do you think symptoms of schizophrenia were involved?
I have schizophrenia. I experience short episodes of what you describe when waking up sometimes: suffocation, sound, images an, screaming and sensation of being violated.
+++ That doesn’t answer your question I understand. What you suggest is potentially possible. For certain ruling contact a specialist. From.what I gather none visit here.
I’ve often wondered if my bouts of sleep paralysis coincide with sza or not. I haven’t met many people who get it. But yeah I’ve experienced very similar to what you describe. Although not for 4 hours! That’s heccas haha
