Should you start metformin whenever you start antipsychotics?

I’m on Abilify which is weight neutral. I started taking Abilify almost straight away as it raised my blood sugar.

I’ve still put on weight. I’m struggling with calorie counting to keep at the same weight.

Im on latuda and have lost 35 lbs this year

I am allergic to dairy and metformin has lactose in it. I can’t just take lactase pills because it’s an allergy. Metformin makes me super ill

Would have been nice, seeing as the vast majority of my weight came once AP were initiated. If I could buy it illicitly, I would.
