New employer asked if it was an issue. I told him I struggle more with my blood sugar and weight and that is what I worry about healthwise. The conversation moved on from there.
My recent boss hired me. He knows I have a mental health issue, but he didnât want to know the particulars. I guess he doesenât think itâs important.
The boss I had before him was fully aware of my diagnosis, and still hired me.
They had seen me in action as a temp, before hiring me though.
But the first couple of years after getting the diagnosis I didnât tell to employers. But this was a troublesome period for me. I hadnât accepted the illness yet, and went off meds periodically. Lost jobs, and eventually ended up on unemployment for a few years.
You should disclose your diagnosis only if you will be needing special accommodations but I wouldnât disclose during the interview process
Wait till you get the job first

You had better not tell thay you have Sza.
I think it is your private secret, others have not need to know it.
If you tell them that you have Sz, the discrimination and stigma that you have to face.
Not in Canada. Someone tried to use my SZ to shame me once and it didnât end well for them. I always punch back twice as hard.
I think you are living in a civilized country.
They canât not hire you because of a disability by law
I had a job one time where I mentioned I didnât want too many hours or it would interfere with my SSDI
The whole restaurant flipped out and people were talking trash about me and it blew up in my face so terribly that I had to quit the job entirely
From personal experience ----- do NOT mention it unless they ask you, but even then they technically canât because thereâs a law saying they canât NOT hire you for a disability reason
When employers ask about the gap(s) in my resume, I tell them it was for medical and mental health reasons.
I never let them know my DXd.
