I went out on a date with someone without telling my mother. He is nice. I like him. But as soon as I told my mum she had a fit. She says he’ll make me to be one of four wives. He’s an atheist but still that’s a bit over the top. So I told her I’ve stopped talking to him. But I’m seeing him again.
Make sure you wear protection ish if you’re meeting this guy in a hotel room like you said you were.

Are you an only child ish? You mom seems overprotective and intrusive. You’re 31, it’s your life after all, you are allowed to make your own choices and learn from your own mistakes. Stand up to her, it’s better than hiding.
Be happy…i dont understand the 4 wives in relation to atheism…multi wives is usually a religious endeavour…but whatever your grown …mammas sometimes are blinded by the need to protect…sometimes they neglect to understand you gotta live a little…
It’s totally reasonable for you to want to have some privacy. Most people go through this at some point in their lives. I started keeping secrets at around 14. It’s just a perfectly normal part of growing up.
@anon80629714 your mom has nothing to do with it, it’s your life. My mom is very protective of me too, but she has reasons. I always make the poor choices. It always bugged me she always had something terrible to say about my boyfriends, even the good ones (there were good ones 
). Moms will be moms and daughters will be daughters, it’s perfectly natural for you to keep your romantic life from your family life, healthy even.

Dude ish you gotta do what pleases you within reason. If respecting your parents is important than do so… If dating this dude is more important to you than do so…
This is kind of assertive but holy ■■■■ Ish you are an adult and should have to be bowing down to your parents the whole time.
