so I was looking at nature vs nurture type stuff, seeing if IQ is genetic or environment (fyi it’s environment) and I wondered what drugs and alcohol do to IQ.
so I searched drugs and IQ and alcohol and IQ. they both increase IQ. stress has been proven to lower IQ so I guess I shouldn’t be so surprised something that relieves stress increases IQ. having lots of money also increases IQ, bill gates has a higher IQ than Einstein at 180.

I think the connection between drugs and iq is that people with high iq do drugs because it’s evolutionarily novel. Same with staying up late. I don’t think doing drugs makes you smart though, it’s just higher iq people are likely to use drugs.

OK, first of all, stop the fighting.
Second, @Erez_Shmerling is right in saying these are correlations and in no way imply causation. For example, money obviously does not increase your IQ, but it is correlated with a higher IQ. Learn the difference.
Third, IQ is determined both by genes and the environment.
