I’m taking too much meds, I can’t go out of my house because I need to take it, this really sucks.
Can you ask your pdoc to change it up a bit so you’re more functional?
I already did, I’m gradually getting off my meds. But it takes too long, and I need to be functional now
Why are you getting off your meds instead of adjusting them? Won’t you relapse?
Adjusting them? What does that mean?
Changing them or just lowering doses
I’m lowering the doses, the problem is that I take my meds three times at day and I can’t go anywhere because of it
Can you bring your meds with you?
I guess, I need to bring always my meds with a bottle of water.
I bring mine if need be
It’s hard, I must take them at the morning, afternoon and night. It makes me feel tired, hungry and bring problems with my breathing. I’m completely incapacitated
You can’t breathe if you take your meds?
It makes a inflammation in my nose and I can’t breath with it, it also makes me feel less happiness and pleasure
How long have you been on it?
I’m taking it since I was 11 years old, I wasn’t delusional I was depressed because I suffered bullying, they gave me it anyways and my mom would interrupt them causing me mood problems
Well I’m not a dr so I don’t know the answer. But maybe you need a second opinion on what meds and dosages you actually need.
What type of med do you need three times a day? I take meds three times a day but when I wake up, after dinner and before bed. So I can get through most of the day without them.
I used to take them four times a day. I took Wellbutrin in the morning and in the afternoon so I used to have to take an afternoon dose but I asked for the XL. I think it stands for extended release and that one lasts all day. Maybe you can ask for it.
I don’t know why they just didn’t give me that to begin with. It was stupid. I took 150 mg in the morning and then another 150 mg in the afternoon. Now I just take one 300xl in the morning. Same effects.
If I go visit family for dinner I take my after dinner meds with me in a ziplock bag in my back pocket. My wife says if I get stopped by the police I will get arrested. You are supposed to carry the prescription bottle. That’s too much trouble.
I work now and I bring my backpack with me to and from work and I do keep three prescription bottles in there. Geodon, Wellbutrin and Xanax. Those are my emergency meds. You can never be too careful.
I had negative symptoms before I started antipsychotics though. I definitely do sleep much more now. A lot more. But I don’t nap. I can make it all day long just fine. But when it gets dark I want to go to bed.
You might gain a little functionality in the short term going off meds, but your functioning will likely be worse in the medium to long term.
If it’s pill taking that’s a problem, there’s always the shots. That’s usually once a month, but there are other schedules. Although if your doctor is trying to wean you off, he or she probably wouldn’t do that.
