Semaglutide for clozapine-treated patients with schizophrenia - The Lancet Psychiatry

Led by Prof Dan Siskind, this paper reports encouraging results from the first trial of semaglutide (Ozempic) in people on clozapine, with no evidence of negative impacts on clozapine levels or clozapine-related side effects.

“At week 36, semaglutide yielded a 13·88% (SE 0·90) body weight reduction compared with 0·42% (SE 0·93) for placebo (between-group difference: –13·46%; p<0·0001)”. Great news!.

Can’t wait for meds that don’t cause weight gain

My doctor gave me Topamax for it. My appetite is gone. I lost 4 pounds this week.
