Self Help Resources for Mental Health Problems

If you experience a condition that is affecting your mental health and are looking for specific information about different types of problems then the ‘workbooks’ or sets of modules in this section may be relevant to you. Some of the modules can be used on their own, while others are best used as part of the series; each workbook will have its own suggestions. We strongly encourage you to talk to your local doctor or a mental health professional about your difficulties as the information provided in the resources are NOT a substitute for proper diagnosis or treatment by an appropriate health professional.

For many of the problems listed below, there are also brief information sheets, along with a series of worksheets that you may wish to use, or that your therapist may help you with.

Please refer to the disclaimer before making use of these resources.

Surprised there is no schizophrenia in the list.

Yeah, it seems like more serious mental health conditions such as sz, sza, psychosis, or bipolar are not addressed.

Bipolar is in the list.

My EAP counselor assigned me some homework from one of these modules. The modules I’m supposed to work on have to do with anxiety and worry.

I was surprised to see all the free work books, information, etc. available on that site.

You’re right! I missed that. Someone should email them and ask if they plan on developing a module on schizophrenia.

This is very helpful. Thank you, @Moonbeam .

Would it be possible to add this to the pinned resources thread?

@Moonbeam are you good at meditation?

I typically do guided meditation such as body scan, breathing, or imagery for calming the mind and reducing anxiety. I found some good ones on Amazon unlimited music that I like. I have trouble doing meditation on my own without someone guiding me through the meditation.

I think there’s a limit to the number of threads that can be pinned. We can check into that. You could bookmark the thread so you can locate it again.
