Seeing pdoc Thursday

He has not contacted me since the incident, but, conveniently, I had an appointment I had forgotten about. Am I going to have to show the cuts? Is he going to try switching meds again? What should I expect?

Hi @samples32 I dont know which dose you are on, but he may raise it some more - but if you cut yourself he may change meds - it all depends. My doctor would give it at least 2 months or so before switching, unless serious side effects crop up

Don’t you want him to tell you stop cutting? Maybe that means showing or telling him about the cuts.

Oh goodness, you got me all wrong! I already told him! I was just wondering if I had to show. They embarrass me and make me nervous. I would rather no one see.

@77nick77

Oh, my mistake. I don’t know if he would ask to see them.

They are so mild… If I give it a few days and exfoliate the bejeezers out of them, they will hardly be visible.

If he knows you have a history with this I don’t see why he would need too see the continued evidence of it. He may adjust your medications depending on how frequent and strong the attacks are. When I was going through my relapse I went in weekly to my doctor and we’d try increasing meds then adding some meds as needed. Eventually the attacks died down or they weren’t so frequent and I started feeling better. I’m not sure of your full diagnosis mine is paranoid schizophrenia and unfortunately it is not curable and I will always suffer from it but medication adjustments make it somewhat manageable.Sometimes our bodies get too used to the medication and it needs to be adjusted to compensate. I hope your visit is productive and am glad you’re feeling better

My working diagnosis is schizoaffective disorder bipolar type. I was just upping my Latuda when that happened. I have been feeling good since then though!

Im sure that your appointment will go fine. He might ask to see your cuts. At the facility I was at they were required to look at your cuts if you self harmed. I don’t know if that applys to a Pdoc though. Good luck!
