Second alcohol meeting with my councillor today

I did a chart (like she asked me too) on how much I’ve drank this week and it doesn’t look good. It soon adds up. I’m aiming for a few drinks this week in small quantities, may 8 cans over the week, then I’m going to slowly cut down more until its once every week, then nothing every week. I’m not going to have huge blow outs like 14 cans when I’ve not had a drink for awhile like I used to do. I want to stop.

I’m of the opinion that that less alcohol you drink the better. Like I used to be a daily drinker. Not much but I’d have a sixer of 3.5% beer and do it regularly.

These days there’s so much better things out of exercising and not doing that so I don’t. I think it’s a worthy endevour but you need to find other things to do for sure. Find a hobby or something you like and move away from the drinking.

It’s really worth it in the long run.

Try drinking shandy. Like the bottles of Barrs you can get, with literally 0.5 alcohol in it. You will feel you have had a drink then.

Surprised you didnt have a liver function test. And your probably short on Vit B Complex, so it wouldnt hurt to take that daily as well.

I’ve had a liver function test and full blood works and everything came back normal apart from my prolactin levels from the antipsychotics.

I seen the alcohol worker and everything went okay, we agreed to a plan. I’m going to have 6 - 440ml cans on Friday topped up with lemonade in a pint class (568ml) Do this a few weeks then start to cut down slowly in a managed way. She told me cutting out alcohol in total abstinence hasn’t worked for me in the past and this method has worked for people. I don’t want to cut out drinking completely as I like a few pints on holiday and stuff but I want to cut my drinking way down to maybe 4 pints every couple of weeks and go long periods without alcohol, more motivation and exercise and weight loss.

Good luck with it @bobbilly . I’m so glad you’re getting help with it.
