Schizotypal

So I guess I have schizotypal personality disorder, it fits a lot better than schizoaffective. I read that it falls on the schizophrenia scale but on the lower side of it? Anyone else here diagnosed with schizotypal personality disorder?

Are you diagnosed with it or, is it what you have worked out for yourself ? In the ICD it’s listed under schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders(or whatever that section is called). In the DSM it’s a personality disorder.

Diagnosed by a therapist, I see a doctor abt it tomorrow

i have two friends who exhibit strong schizotypal traits. i cant say whether or not they have it, but they really do tick a lot of the boxes. im not a doctor tho so idk. one of them also has VERY strong borderline traits and its very common for people to have multiple personality disorders if they have one. they have the magical beliefs/thinking (one of them believes hes immortal, genuinely, and the other often gets really paranoid that demons are coming for them), the social anxiety that doesnt abate with familiarity, chronic paranoia, problems with depersonalization, and when theyre really stressed they blend the line between psychotic and not. i find it very interesting

I have it (it could also be prodromal schizophrenia), yes it is considered like a mild schizophrenia.

It started with the observations of Bleuler of what he called “Latent Schizophrenia”, he noticed that many sons of severe schizophrenics exhibited similar symptoms but milder psychotic ones.
Then they added to it milder cases with mostly paranoid or bizarre ideas and people believed to be at high risk for sz (schizotypal personality, recent functional decline and younger than 25-30).

You can read the ICD-10 description here:
