I think that schizophrenics see the world, and when it becames hostile, they add more ‘flavour’ to their reality, so it is easier to live. If they had a harsh experience, this gets pushed out too much and they can experience an ongoing psychosis. Does this make sense to anyone? This is the best way I could describe the condition abstractly.

I think the roots of some of my delusions came from believing what i wanted to believe in order to make my life easier. As opposed to believing reality, what was actually true (and painful.)

It’s not a useful evolutionary change, especially for males. Hard to reproduce and spread your genetic line when no woman will date an impoverished male living with his parents.

People are not perfect. Media often set standards for how people should be. We could become like pugs with our eyes falling out because we listened to how someone said people should look. The balance is probably off somewhere. It is best to not completely listen to someone when they say something is attractive. It is best to find what works for you.
I don’t worry about being attractive, I focus on being functional.
