What have been the most helpful meditations you have taken for negative symptoms? Lack of motivation and energy etc.

Abilify is supposed to help with negative symptoms and I take that. If it’s true, then I’d hate to see what I’d be like on something that didn’t help

For me, no medication or supplement has been successful so far. I have severe negative symptoms.

Right now I am on Minocycline for negative symptoms, which is an antibiotic. It doesn’t seem to work anymore. I was on adderall until I was diagnosed then they took me off, as stimulants can make positive symptoms worse

I hear you, they are bad for me as well

I’m on Wellbutrin, it hasn’t completely treated my low motivation and anhedonia but without it I’m so much worse, I might have killed myself if it didn’t work or if it made me psychotic. If you do decide to go on it, be careful cuz it’s known to make people psychotic.

None of my APs have ever done much for negative symptoms. I have gained most benefit from therapy and CBT. Sarcosine is a fantastic supplement for negative symptoms. I swear by it.

Ok thnx😃 I will do

I used to have a terrible time with negative symptoms. I had a hard time washing my face, brushing my teeth, taking showers and washing my hair. Then, out of an interest in yoga and meditation, I developed an interest in Ayurvedic medical science and got a book on the subject from Amazon and read it. Now, I am very interested in Ayurvedic health practices, like: washing my face and following with cool water. Scraping my tongue with a spoon. Brushing my teeth every day. Doing eye exercises every morning. Swishing and gargling with sesame oil. Coating the inside of my nostrils with sesame oil. And rubbing my feet with warm sesame oil every night. Doing all these practices every morning and evening makes me feel very well cared for and good about myself. And, I look good too. And best of all, like with my yoga and meditation practices, I am very consistent with my Ayurvedic practices. I would recommend them to anyone.

According to Ayurveda, people are made up of three types of constitutions: Vata, Pitta, or Kapha. Vata uses sesame oil. Pitta uses coconut oil. And Kapha uses corn oil.

I had severe negative symptoms before I started antipsychotics and even while on the lowest dose of Geodon you could take so I think it’s from the illness and not the meds.

Wellbutrin and Latuda helps. I had no luck with any supplements or CBT but I recommend at least trying it out.

I take Ritalin and Concerta. I find them to be moderately effective at best.
