Schizophrenia - Genetics? You can Participate in this Research

What causes of mental illness?
Our research group at Bournemouth University is running an online study exploring whether genetic counselling might be useful for individuals with schizophrenia and their relatives.

Genetic counselling is a special service that provides information about the causes - both genetic and environmental - of diseases.
At the moment genetic counselling isn’t available for individuals with psychiatric disorders. Yet it is offered for other complex diseases including diabetes and cancer.

We would really like to hear your views around genetic counselling and would be very grateful if you could take part.
The study takes 10-15 minutes to complete, and is anonymous and confidential

It would have been nice to know my risk. Problem is I was diagnosed before my dad was. But my aunt has schizophrenia I’m sure her kids and grandchildren would like to know their risk. I don’t plan on giving birth to any children my partner is going to do that.
