Just curious which communities y’all prefer or a part of both. I am on both and don’t participate post a lot. But I love the conversations on here much better.

I avoid other mental health sites as a rule. There is one other but I don’t know many of the other posters there, so I don’t frequent it as much

Bit more of a community here

I like both.
I stopped using it
cos you now need an application

I stopped using reddit on phone years ago because it uses too much data and because its full of crap. I have no idea why im coming to schizos.com but i just come here without thinking

This forum. Reddit is more of a distraction. Subreddit is good but I tend to wander off more over there.

I think we are more like a family here than on Reddit.

The rules are less strict on Reddit so whenever i want to have feedback on something that would be banned here, i use Reddit, mostly the schizotypal reddit, but there is not a lot of activities there and im definitely one of “the old guys”

I like to give advice and solace to young people there or on the subreddit “mental illness” especially those who just got diagnosed.

I think both sites are pretty problematic in a lot of ways. And can be helpful too. The subreddit is a lot more problematic. I’m conflicted about both sites.

I don’t like either because I’m not anonymous anymore.

I just kind of like it.

Also I feel I can’t express myself freely.

Like you get ganged up on if you are different in some respects

I agree. I also don’t really feel like the support on either site is good. I rarely ask for support because it doesn’t feel useful to do so. Unless I just want people to say empty things or to say that everything I already do is right. Or even risk being criticized for implying that we can do something.

Oh I like the support lol. People can be so supportive here, imo.

Even if people seem to be saying ‘empty’ things, I think ppl are just trying to be positive.

Idk maybe I misunderstood you but that’s just how I see it.

Lol, everything you do is alright :joy:

I kind of feel like the support here isn’t healthy for most people. It’s pacifying and empty.
I appreciate the positivity but I feel like that’s not enough. But it probably is good enough if you have no one else to get support from IRL.

Pacifying

I think the thing is sometimes people are not capable to do things other ways.

Even if they wanted to.

I think that’s the case for quite a lot of ppl including me.

But yes I agree that irl support could make SUCH a difference
