I can believe it. The mind and body are connected. My pdoc told me that vitamin D benefits mentally ill
Yes yes yes, I’m glad someone made a post about this. I think it’s absolutely right in some cases. I recently realized that right after eating gluten (which for many people induces an immune system response trying to fight it off) that my hallucinations started up right away. I think it’s probably the stress of killing off the gluten in my system and I may be allergic as well. But yea when I eat gluten I get psychotic symptoms so it’s definitely worth checking to see if you have celiac disease or some other kind of autoimmune or gut problem that contributes to mental illness, both through the stress and the possible damage that can occur in the brain due to the body attacking itself in trying to kill off things that enter into the body through the gut.
yes, this is a positive post, my gut is not good at all and i hope i could take something to help, is there anything that could help that is an all in one remedy with anti-inflammatory, digestion and protective benefits? i would be very interested.
@anon93437440 you know that study does it suggest that the meds reduce the inflammation and that its all caused by stress and anxiety?
i know that when the flight/fight response is active that it has a negative affect on digestion.
Dude, I get a similar thing from eating gluten. I think it’s brain inflammation from the immune system going crazy and mistakenly attacking the brain.
I take it you try to avoid gluten now? I avoid it like the plague
I’m kind of new to this to be honest so I don’t really know if there’s one simple solution, I think it would depend on what gut problem you have.
All I can say is if your gut is not good you should check if you have celiac disease underlying your illness. In this case basically your body is attacking gluten and ends up destroying the intestines in the process and also attacks your brain I think in one way or another. Not only that but the sufferers brain then also is not maintained because of malnutrition.
Do you ever used to get sharp pains in the stomach after eating wheat growing up? Fatigue, pale foul-smelling fatty stool, weight loss, dental enamel problems?
You can check it out here if you want.

There are also other symptoms. If not you might have something else that’s putting a lot of stress on your body which then puts stress on your mind
I dont think its celiacs disease tbh, i know its easy to think that but my gut was fine before meds and it wasn’t until after i was pt on meds that i gained weight and my stomach got worse,
I also had an ulcer, and i believe it is all down to either my own stress/anxiety or its a side effect of meds, i hope its not meds bc i cant really do anything about that.
Yup it’s actually amazing how discovering one thing like this can change so much. It really gives me hope that if I make a number of easy changes in my life I can actually be voice free with little or possibly no medication. All I had to do was stop eating wheat boom! There’s 20% of the problem, sleep right/eat right boom another stress source gone. Stop smoking another percentage, other coping skills like music etc and I’m on my way XD
Yea trying to cut it out completely but having a tough time cause I’m homeless and when someone buys you a BLT and a muffin from tim hortens you don’t say no Haha
Hmmm. Well in what way does it bother you? To be honest my diet has been not so good for a long time and I think even that can damage the flora etc
Instead of avoiding foods i am thinking about probiotics to help me to cope with them better,
There are 2 on amazon i have seen that look good, one is a 6month supply and the other is only a month and idk what to choose,
Idk what is better for me, may as well take a chance on it, if its an anti-inflammatory them maybe the swelling in my gut may reduce, its worth a shot i guess.
I think i will just go to the chemist tomorrow and ask them, if anyone will know it should be them.
That’s true medical professionals will give you the best advice.
Personally I’d go for the one month supply if you’re not really sure cause it’s best not to take the risk in case you find something else that might also work but I could be wrong.
I was on Invega for a while and it caused a lot of constipation.
It could also be just that you’re noticing it now that your on meds, I mean I find it hard to concentrate on myself when there’s a lot of noise never mind voices lol
You could also just be intolerant to something? Has your diet changed at all since you began taking meds?
Been taking meds since 2003 i think, my newer med is better from 2010/11 i think, i took an anti-anxiety med which made me swell up like a balloon last year but i stopped it, wasnt doing much anyway,
I had really bad anxiety but i’ve been working on it slowly but surely, doing more and extending my tolerances, i can do more now but i’m still limited.
so i’m hoping this probiotic may help reduce my swollen tummy and make it better i’m sure its to do with anxiety but i still think meds may have something to do with it.
My doctor tested me. I was positive for one
Hey guys, just thought you’d like to know that I spoke with the pharmacist and she said it’s best to avoid the probiotics bc they are not proven to work so it would be a waste of money, she suggested I take some colpermin capsules so I bought some to try them and if they work I’ll get them free on prescription I’m going to talk to the Dr about it anyway, hoping it works
