Scared Wife

Hi everyone, I’m not the owner of this account, I’m the owners wife, he gave me his login so I could ask some questions if I needed to. I hope that’s okay!

Anyways, my husband was just diagnosed as schizophrenic and was told he will be discharged from the air force. That terrifies me because I’m afraid we womt be able to support ourselves without that income. I work, but it isnt enough to cover all of our expenses. I’ve seen online that the VA will pay out some level of disability but on many sites I see that they often deny schizophrenia claims or grossly underrate the disability. Do any of you have this experience? From what his First Sergeant told me, the VA will rate his disability before he even gets out of the service and his disability checks will start immediately upon separation. What happens if they deny disability altogether?

I would think you would get the disability check…please try to let it go…I am pretty sure you will be o k.
