The lower back pain etc,which I’ve previously mentioned,has got me thinking it’s cancer. Stepdaughter is wondering whether I’m drinking enough.Someone asked whether I’d had a digital examination. I’ve never had one. I’m definitely in the age range to have had one though. It is often stated that physical health care for the severely mentally ill leaves a lot to be desired.

You may need to ask for not only an exam, but a patient advocate who can make sure you receive appropriate treatment

I think my stepdaughter will do that. There is supposed to be a severe mental illness register where you’re seen once a year,if you have severe mental illnes ,but that’s rather basic . Also in my case there have been gaps in being seen .

Are you sure it’s cancer and not sore muscles around the hips? Have you tried doing some yoga and other stretches for your hip muscles? If you sit down a lot, and you don’t stretch, you can get all kinds of painful and irritating problems down there.
Are you talking about prostate cancer? If so you might want to go get screened. Remember prostate cancer is highly survivable now. Just go get checked.
That’s the direction my thoughts are going in . I can’t say I’m totally sure though.

It’s a basic appointment . Hence why it will have taken nearly 3 weeks from when my stepdaughter made it for me. It’s possible it could result in being screened, but that will be decided,I should think,at the appointment .

Oh yeah, just bring up your concerns and it will get the ball rolling. Let them know your particular symptoms and viola they will take it from there. You will feel so much better once you get going down that path.

The symptoms don’t sound like cancer, but let the dr know you’re worried about it. And don’t trust Dr Google! Everything is cancer on google!
