Scared....back upper molar really hurts

back when I was going to the dentistry school to get two crowns they only finished one crown and the other one they didn’t get to is starting to really hurt…sensitive to cold.

my question is when the dentist pulls a tooth do they put you out or what do they do for pain?

The dentist will use a local anesthetic such as Novocaine. After the extraction, the dentist usually prescribes a 3-day supply of Hydrocodone, which is a semisynthetic opioid.

In the meantime, you can decrease the sensitivity by using Sensodyne toothpaste.

I hope you feel better soon.

I hope you feel better and get it taken care of soon. Toothaches are very painful.

Get that looked at immediately! Tooth pain can be a sign of a tooth infection, which can spread into the jaw bone and become life-threatening. Remember the lesson of @flameoftherhine who almost died from an infected tooth.

I’ve had teeth pulled. Unless it’s impacted, it really doesn’t hurt much. They gave me codeine for the pain, because everything else either interacted badly with Geodon or I was allergic to it.
