Saying inappropriate things

Is saying inappropriate things a symptom of sz? I really said something inappropriate about Jesus Easter Sunday and offended a good friend.

News flash. Any opinion you give will offend someone whether you are schizophrenic or not.

Well I haven’t heard from my friend in a day or two, and out of the blue Sunday afternoon he texted me “He has Risen”. That’s all he texted. So I texted back “Did he cum?”. I don’t know what possessed me to say that.

Try to avoid topics about religion, politics and abortion. That goes for normies too.

Just appologize. I am sure your friend would forgive you.

If you can’t control what your saying , I would definitely be doing a lot of damage control. Friends are of great value. I wouldn’t be burning any Bridges. I would be making everything right if I had to apologize to someone every day. You don’t want to make anyone feel bad or loose friends. But I’d talk to the Dr about it. Could cause you some heartbreak at some point

All I know is that if you said something inappropriate, and that inappropriate something would have saved the world, by today’s rules, that said would be rejected and the world would come to an end.

I know that saying and doing inappropriate things is a symptom of bipolar/sza. I don’t know about sz.

Sure but you know what you said so you have some insight. I’d apologize.

I did apologize. We’re friends again and talking to each other. I said I hoped he could forgive me.

I asked my psychiatrist if she would go out on a date with me naked while I am high on cocaine. The date didn’t go that badly but when I called the phone number she gave me the next day her husband sounded irritated at me. I told him, “Yeah if I had a wife as ugly as yours I would me in a bad mood too, numnuts.”

I just made all this crap up in two seconds, pretty cool, right?

Maybe not so much?

I think schizophrenia causes lack of impulse control and weakens the mental filter we have for what’s appropriate and what’s not.

Before I was medicated, I would speak faster than I could think, so I often wound up saying wildly inapropriate things.
Now it feels like my mouth and brain have a better connection, and I’m often able to stop myself before I potentially say something stupid.

But there’s always the risk of offending someone. Some people also take offense easier than others, there’s no avoiding stepping on toes once in a while.

All you can do if you think you’ve offended someone is to let them know you’re aware you did something incorrect, and apologise.

I’m glad the two of you were able to talk it out

Well you’re his friend i would think you would know his sense of humor best. If you’re not sure ask him. If you did, apologize if the friendship is meaningful to you.

It’s never smart to discuss those topics at any get together, or at least at get togethers where you don’t know if everyone is sympathetic to the same politics. It can turn people on friendly terms into yelling, shouting enemies.
