Saw my pdoc today

Just finished seeing my psychiatrist virtually on my phone.
Told her about my euphoric manias on 75mg of Lamictal.

So now I’ll be taking only 25mg of Lamictal for depression starting tomorrow.

She is also raising my Risperdal from 4mg to 5mg.

Hopefully I’ll start feeling like myself soon.

Do you think it was a few steps in the right direction? Or do you have reservations?

I hope you don’t get depression after the mania,

No I actually was shooting for these changes.
I didn’t want to go back on Depakote so this was the best option.

I am glad you got the outcome you’re looking for.

Fingers crossed for you that it settles things down

Hopefully I won’t @TheFountainPen
I’ll still be on a low dose of Lamictal for depression.

Although we’re both in a different part of the cycle, I wish you well with your approach.

At this time I am trying to cut things I don’t see are working as they should…

Suppose in a way we’re both taking charge of our best interests

Don’t know your opinion on the mental health system where you live, but here they do not make things easy to access.

Need to make the most of these precious appointments

Not a paying customer in a way

I have a private doctor so maybe it’s a little easier for me.

There are many complications with going private here.

Literally, you will pay full price for everything

The State services wouldn’t recognise it is my understanding

Like people who get an autism dx privately still need a national health one to be recognised.

Last I checked the waiting lists for that particular thing was 2 years +

Private Pdoc prices in the UK are total rip off. £360 for 1 hour/£180 for 30 min. I pay my psychiatrist 80€ for 1 hour /50€ for 30 min. I guess some countries pay docs more, but do they really need those million dollar homes. My two cents,

On top of that a private prescription for meds I think you pay the full price, and not NHS tariffs as they get them much cheaper

And it’s not like (private)pdocs are poor in Belgium. My former pdocs house is for sale right now. Asking price 975.000 € it’s not like he’s struggling.
