You don’t have a face tattoo right?

Examples of people who shouldn’t get rTMS include those with:

  • aneurysm clips or coils
  • bullet fragments or shrapnel near the head
  • cardiac pacemakers or implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD)
  • facial tattoos that have magnetic ink or ink that is sensitive to magnets
  • implanted stimulators
  • metal implants in the ears or eyes
  • stents in the neck or brain

I believe @neveragain did this and found it very successful. He said he was fine and stopped coming here.

I tried it twice. Did help a bit with auditive hallucinations but quit because of too much Side effects (dizziness and uncontrolled movements). Only helps for a while and is highly experimental. That is why The treatment isn’t reimbursed by social security in Belgium. Wouldn’t recommend it. Just a waste of money.

Yeah I wouldn’t be able to pay a bunch for it i don’t have that much money. Its all free under research

I got all setup for the rTMS treatment today.
They measure the correct placements on a cap.

Then they use the machine and test your motor threshold.
Basically they turn it up till it causes your right hand to twitch. That is how they figure out the correct dose.

Now I gotta wait till end of May to start all the sessions.

I’m going to keep a log on this thread of rtms treatment progress.

Day 1
First treatment today for rTMS
I think they used :
cTBS protocol (continuous theta burst stimulation)
1hz 1 pulse per second on the right side of :
DLPFC (dorso lateral pre frontal cortex)
For 20 minutes.

Felt like a woodpecker tapping on my head 1200 times lol.

No side effects which is good.

I don’t really expect any improvement until I’ve had 15 or 20 sessions.

Doing this for bipolar depression / negative symptoms whichever it may be the end goal is the same.

Cheers

Day 3. The tapping sensation felt stronger today. Just did some arithmetic in my head to pass the time.

Day 4 and 5 I was way down. Then the 2 following days is the weekend so no treatment, I actually have felt better these past two days.

Oh also On day 2 in the evening had a period of about 2 hours where I felt completely normal, not up not down not hyper not slow. Just calm with good focus and attention.

I haven’t felt like that in about a year. That usually only lasts for 30mins to 3 or 4 hours.

I think I’ll post a weekly summary from now on.

Cheers
