Risperadone

I take 3mg of Risperadone at night. I would prefer to take my medications in the current dosage permanently. Does anyone know of the long term side effects of being on it? Any health concerns? The only side effects I’ve noticed are I can’t sit down like a normal person, I have to be perched and consuming alcohol has more effect. That and it makes me sleepy and gives me a good nights rest.

I did it for me too but I don’t mind, I had a good run. It’s nice not to think about it as often as I once did.

It van raise your prolactin levels, so just make sure to get it tested every 6 months. Its a hormone that can cause nipple discharge and sexual side effects. Theres medicine that can counteract it tho.

I think resperisone raises prolactin but I’m not sure.

I’ve been taking it for roughly four and half years and nothing has happened yet to indicate any symptoms of high prolactin. I have noticed that I don’t crave chocolate or sweets as much as I did. I read somewhere it raises blood sugar levels. I take a teaspoon of sugar in my coffee and I have plenty of them a day, so that’s all the sugar I need.

I have only tried Quetiapine or Seroquel and for some reason when I was given that and asked to abstain from cannabis and alcohol all I could do was watch serial killer documentaries. I could not watch them before, I cannot watch them now. But at the time I watched them all, just because I could.
