Reporting a historical crime to police

Hi All,

I spoke to someone online who told me I needed to report a crime so that the people responsible get punished so they cannot do the same to others.

The problem is this all happened between 1999 and 2004.

I did email the Police, and they were very concerned.

The problem is that I don’t know all the peoples names, and being able to identify them through pictures may not be possible.

They want me to make a decision by Monday on whether I do a video interview.

The one name I know is someone who’s very dangerous, and I would fear for my safety if I was to become a witness.

I don’t know what to do. Should I just say no I don’t want to? Or do I have to go ahead with it?

I just feel that I have no credibility as at the time I was heavily into drugs, and now I have Schizophrenia. i feel I’d get torn apart in court and it would fail if it went that far.

That’s tricky man. I was all about justice but since I’m ill I’m pretty fragile do I don’t want to have problems with anyone. That’s your call

That makes a lot of sense. I am not sure. I guess because it has been some time now I should just move on from it and try and forget.

I would think the statute of limitations had probably run out unless it was murder or something.
