Rent is due

Sigh… I’m so frustrated I saw my paycheck amount and it’s only $561. I currently have $220 in my bank account and get paid tomorrow. But rent is due today and if I don’t pay it today they’re going to add a $50 late fee tomorrow.

My rent is $720 right now but will go up to $770 tomorrow when I’m able to pay. Doing the math I’d have $10 left over to get me till my next paycheck on the 11th. Now I do have the option to wait till the 11th to pay rent but it’s $10 a day in late fees. So my rent would be $830 if I wait to pay till the 11th.

So yes it’s more expensive but I’d have more money to buy groceries in the next week. If I pay rent tomorrow with the late fee I’d likely overdraft my account in the next week and I don’t want to do that. Ugh I don’t know what to do.

I’m coming down from a manic episode and I missed some work this week. If I work a full 20 hours on Friday and Saturday I’d have 28 hours on my paycheck which isn’t terrible. Means my paycheck on the 11th will approximately be $480. I owe my brother $100 and my friend $60 so I’d have $1240 minus $830 for rent so I’d have $410 then minus the $160 I owe to my brother and friend I’d have $250 left to make it to my next paycheck on the 18th.

What do you all think? Should I try to pay my rent tomorrow and hope and pray $10 can get me through till the 11th or should I wait and have the late fees and pay on the 11th which is $830

I have no idea what you should do. Maybe you could pay rent earlier and try and borrow some money from someone to get you to the 11th. I know when I was in situations like that I always had to do what I had to do and a lot of times it meant postponing a bill and maybe paying more later. For me it was always where I could take the hit to make it and then use the future to catch up. If your money situation is looking better in the future maybe postpone your rent. You could maybe let your landlord know when you plan on paying. But I think the cheapest route would be to pay someone back.

I usually do a check on my food to see if I have enough to last me till my next pay check. If I have enough to last I could live on £10 to last me a week for milk and bread, coffee. I would hate paying more for something.

It depends. Do you have enough food to get through the week? Do you have access to a food bank that you can go to tomorrow or the next day? Do you need gas?

I take the bus and have a paid bus pass from my clinic so no gas to pay for and I can get around. I have quite a bit of food I’d just need milk and cream.

I have a freezer full of meat and staples like pasta rice and potatoes.

If it was me in your position I would pay the rent and live off the food I have stored until next payday especially if its a week. £10 would get me milk and bread. That £50 I saved would get me a weeks groceries.

I’d pay the rent sooner since you have the food you need in order to save money.

It’s not just food though I have an automatic payment of $6 on the 5th and an automatic payment on the 10th of $13. Which means I’ll be negative $9 for one day

Then wait because you’ll have overdraft fees too

Money lion or Dave’s can give you low interest loan. You can get like $200 for a $5 fee. Then pay it back asap like get $50 for groceries then pay it when u get your check?

Well, it sounds like you have the grocery problem figured out. I hate to suggest it but what about credit cards? Pay your rent now and put anything else that comes up before the 11th on your credit cards. Or since this seems like an emergency can you pay your rent now and borrow $20 from a family member or friend to tide you over until the 11th? And manage your money better or put a little aside for emergencies like this?

How about those places I used to see all around where you can get an advance on your paycheck? Or see if your employer will give you an advance on your paycheck. Maybe tell your brother or your friend that you will be doing OK with money by the 11th and instead of borrowing the money outright, ask them if they will loan you a little money if something comes up. It might be better than just straight out borrowing the money and you could kind of stretch the $10.

You have to eat to stay alive. I hope your brother and friend aren’t desperate just now, but it sounds like you are. Pay your rent as late as you can, so you can eat and continue working. Hopefully everyone else isn’t doing as bad. Maybe there’s food banks around, if you can’t afford things. If your expenses are high, you should qualify for EBT benefits. I couldn’t tell what country you’re from.

Use a credit card. 151515

I have no credit cards, I went bankrupt two years ago and swore to never get in debt again. I am trying to save money but not being able to work enough hours makes me live paycheck to paycheck. If I worked 40 hours a week I’d bring home $2800 net and I’d be so much better off. But I rarely can work more than 30 hours a week due to mental and physical health. My rent is typically $1200 a month but I had a $500 credit this month.

Well, it all depends on whether you want to take your chances with trying to live on $10 for a week or whether you want to wait and spend $50.

My landlord folks can take payments on rent but we go ahead and pay rent full. There must be some way you could get help. Don’t go homeless please. Don’t go hungry either. Hugs.

You got pets? Need to kick squints ass old bat ■■■■■■■■■■■■

If I wait it’ll be $110 in late fees by the 11th so it’ll be $830 but it’s doable

I feel bad for you. I wish I could help. :dog::dog::dog:
