Remembering those who starved to death

In the 1860s there was the great famine in Finland and many people starved to death. I have my annual ritual to visit the graveyard where these people who starved to death have been buried. Here is one pic of this graveyard. Never again.

how many, do they think, perished?

Even one is too many.

There are close to 300 people buried in this graveyard in the mass grave. This is only from my little town and its area.

That’s so awful! I feel so sorry for them! I can’t even imagine how badly they suffered

Must have been really hard times. What caused the famine? Was it drought? Economic recession?

I read somewhere that there’s enough food in the world to feed everyone in the world but it’s just not properly distributed. Could have been that way back then too.
