Remember when it was big deal to be in the Who's Who?

well, Daze has officially been in there for decades.

I think it was something back in day about high school.

well, I’m a long ways from that.

@anon39054230 I want Patrick to respond to this.

what, what, what, could have my childhood-mates have done, any teacher, any preacher!

Do you mean like the superlatives in a high school yearbook? Best dressed, most likely to succeed, etc. ?

not really each school, it was a general catalogue to get into, but yes, I think it was the best of high school, was it mainly academics, can’t really remember.

We dont have that here but i think it should be done like a yearbook, we just had a class photo and seperate photos for our parents but they were expensive, i wouldn’t have made the yearbook, i was a massive failure at school, my s*it kinda slipped when i was 15 though :frowning:

you are lucky to have kids Daze, some people leave it too late

They contacted me to be in it. I had to write some kind of bio/essay so I wasn’t put in it cos I was nervous about the essay

I can imagine the association of honor roll students wanting to do that.

I’m okay with being something somewhere, but not for show.

Academics is how I survived. I went home from school every day to a chaotic household. There was yelling and screaming btwn my dad and his girlfriend. She physically attacked him. He slapped her around once when I was in jr high cos she put down my sister

I used to get sick to my stomach when I’d hear his truck pull in. You never knew what he was going to get angry about. When I was 18 I had to get out of there.

To do that I made sure to make the grades to get into college. So at 18 I left on my high school graduation night. While I was in school though I also loved learning.

I wasn’t popular. I was a nobody to everybody. But nobody could take my academic achievements from me. So I studied for hours a day after coming home from school. I graduated with a 4.5 gpa. Crazy

I do believe I’ve seen movies like that. my parents were okay. could have used more basic instructions though.

I was in Who’s Who. I think I got selected just because I had cancer.
