Every year they do an annual check up, and my time has come to go to the GP and have them quiz me about my mental state
Basically all that happens is the nurse answers a questionnaire about me without even doing anything, and the surgery gets money for doing this once a year
To be honest, I know they found my cholesterol to be high a couple of years ago, but I have had enough about all the speeches about being more active and to stop smoking.
Thinking I am not going to bother to go.
Sounds stupid espeicially if your stable, just them saying we did a good job.

It was high before and just about acceptable as of 6 months ago
Think it might be the Amisulpride causing it, but there is not a joined up approach with mental and physical health, and where I am they don’t bother to monitor side effects
Illnesses and other issues come up in that blood work sometimes. The idea is to have it tested every year so it can be treated before it becomes an issue. It’s actually really important
me too. i also get ‘sick’ of going to medical appts.
i only go when i absolutely have to.

You need to go. They seem like they are doing nothing because they are finding nothing. Just wait until the screening turns up a spot of something not going good and you’ll see how important they really are.
I blow these things off. Next thing they’re gonna be hitting me up for is a colonoscopy. Ain’t nobody got time fo’ that! I’m not that invested in living and dragging out my life.
I think an annual check-in is a good thing. I’d love to be able to have one, but no family GP. I’m checking in with the pdoc about twice a year now.
