I know only one person who managed to get on without medicine but he still hear voices constantly, every other schizophrenic I see needs medicine and that’s about more than 100 that I have seen so far
I have 4 people in my family who are diagnosed with schizoaffective (me included). Everyone is very ill and needs meds. My mom and sister are the worst; they have no insight.
It completely depends what you mean by recovered. Some people define “recovered” as being on meds with no positive symptoms. Some people define “recovered” as being able to hold a job and support themselves. I’m guessing though that what you mean is recovered to the point of not having to take meds and still having no positive or negative symptoms over the course of multiple years. These people are very rare.
