Really going to try!

My weight gain has gotten out of control. I have gained almost 70 lbs. since the summer of 2017. This fall/ winter, I just kind of gave up and started eating whatever I wanted; since I was gaining weight no matter how I ate, I thought, “screw it!”. However, I am going to change that and really, really try to lose weight. My goal right now is to get to 200 lbs. (I’m at 215) by mid-March. That is 1.5 lbs. a week and should be doable. I ordered exercise clothes so I can walk more, and I just got a Fitbit today. I am stopping Lyrica, too, since it keeps me in a lazy haze. Anyhow, I am REALLY going to give this my all!

Weight gain is a big problem for a lot of people on meds. I know how it is to want to lose weight. Sounds like you have a good plan and that’s good. I wish you the best in your weight loss.

Good for you. Getting a fitbit was the best thing I’ve done in ages. It helps me focus and set goals to get more done in the exercise realms! Hope it goes well but set realistic goals and don’t be too hard on yourself!

@Happy_H I am 206lbs. 5’5. How tall are you? I find I am gaining 2lbs a week. But I am not exercising. I really need to exercise. I have a problem with over eating sometimes too. I wish I could get down to 180lbs. And stay that weight.

Hi November! I am 5’10".

Have you asked your dr what your ideal weight should be? I mean you’re pretty tall.

There’s another member on here that is on a medically monitored diet.

My ideal weight is no more than around 170. I am way over that! I have to be really careful about dieting. I can’t eat greens because I’m on blood thinners, and I have to eat regularly because I am on meds that will make me sick. It’s just tricky.

Rather than focus on eating less, I’m trying to focus on eating better. For example, snacks like apple slices and peanut butter instead of cookies.

Okay. Your weight isn’t too bad for your height. But I see why you want to lose weight. Good luck. I’m trying too.
