Quitting caffeine after over 3 years of daily consumption

today is my first day without caffeine. i bought some decaf green tea which is not completely caffeine free (contains like 2mg) but enough that it wont really produce any caffeine effects compared to my usual 300-500mg a day. i have a headache right now which is the first thing i usually feel when i dont consume caffeine. usually when i feel the headachw i drink a coffee but im just gonna wait it out because caffeine has no benefit to me anymore

Perhaps its better if you drink less coffee every day? Quitting cold turkey will surely give you a headache.

Coffee stopped waking me up. What is wrong with me that it has no effect on me?

u probably just got used to it. i can drink 2 energy drinks back to back adding up to almost 400mg caffeine total and take a nap minutes later. my sleep doesnt respond to caffeine i can drink it any time of the day.

I quit caffeine too. I just drink decaffeinated coffee now.

I limit my caffeine to one cup of coffee in the morning and then if I want more coffee, I drink decaf. For a while I was only drinking decaf.

TBH, decaf tastes pretty much the same as caffeinated so it’s pretty satisfying if you primarily drink coffee for the taste. If you drink coffee for the caffeine rather than the taste, then it’s probably better to drink water than decaf. At least you’ll stay hydrated that way and it’s less expensive.

I had two containers. One was caffeinated coffee, and the other was decaffeinated coffee.

I slowly started to add more decaffeinated to the mix, until eventually switching entirely to decaffeinated.
