IDK. They switch arms each time for a reason.

During the shot it hurts some but not a lot. The nurse tells me they use thinner needles than they did when I was a kid so shots don’t hurt as much. They put the needle in and let it stay in for about 5 or 6 seconds than take it out. Don’t freak out over it, the pain is bearable.

Mine usually don’t hurt afterwards. The place in the arm where the needle went in might be a little sore for an hour but you won’t notice it unless you move your arm a lot. To tell you the truth, I almost literally forget about the shot the moment I walk out of the room. By the time I’m back in my car I’m getting ready for the ride home and planning what I’m going to do next. My nurse puts a piece of cotton over the injection site and puts a bandaid over it and sometimes I forget to take it off for two or three days.

No, I didn’t. And I never do.

I understand that you’re nervous but it’s really no big deal. Don’t stress. They call you in and the injection takes 6 seconds and then you’re out of there and if the nurse giving the shot knows what she’s doing (which most likely she does) then it won’t hurt bad and you’re arm might be a little bit sore (but just a little bit) but you’ll feel fine.

I switch sides just in case

do the shots hurt much during or after?

I take in the gluteal muscle. Used to before in the arm. Sometimes you feel it and sometimes it is sore afterwards (more so in the arms and plenty less in the gluteal).

did u feel weird after the first shot?

Cant remember everything but I remember sleeping a lot when I was released from the hospital. Was so glad to be home.

i get my first shot tomorrow and im nervous.

You get used to it. Nothing to worry about.

When I was on Invega Sustenna I rotated arms. I’m not trying to scare you but I developed knots where they gave me the shots and it really hurt getting them injected where the knot was so we switched to getting them injected in my upper hip(sorta like the buttocks area). When we switched to getting them injected there it was much more comfortable. I noticed a general sleepiness for a day or two after each shot but nothing major. It helped my symptoms quite a bit. Only reason I went off it was because I got elevated prolactin to the point of where I started lactation.
