Question about stage of normal mood after mania and before depression

What is this stage called? After a manic episode, I sometimes had all kinds of emotions and normal moods before crashing into persistent depression. I meet the diagnostic criteria for mania, but I never fall down into major depression, the depression that I have after the manic episode is mild

Even mild depression is considered depression

I’ve been mildly depressed for weeks now.

But my lows can also be very deep.

I am also diagnosed with bipolar

It’s just I thought you need to meet diagnostic criteria for major depression for Bipolar 1 and 2.

Do you suffer with mainly mania?
And what does your psychiatrist think?

Yes, I have history of suffering from mania in the past and recently.

Mania is enough to be diagnosed with bipolar 1 disorder

Seems like you experience mild depression also, so yeah

I can have long periods of mild/moderate depression and long periods of mild hypomania.

Id say my “normal” mood lasts about 1 to 2 hrs if im lucky. It happens so little I almost dont know what a normal mood is anymore.

You don’t need major depression for Bipolar 1? Because I have mild depression after crashing down from mania.

For bipolar 1 you need a severe mania episode lasting more than 7 days I think

I had profound mania for a month at the age of 15 and mild mania for five years when I became stable with medications, and then I because depressed after crashing down.

Depression isn’t necessary for a bipolar diagnosis, i used to be depressed but not anymore, not sure though since i barely have motivation to do stuff but i think that has more to do with the adhd.

I get dysphoric mania as well (mixed episodes of mania and depression at same time) there terrible.

Im ok with the euphoric hypomania as long as im aware of it and careful with decisions.

I had a Delusional Disorder and it was brief and related to mania and anxiety.
