I have a question. I do hear voices and i was diagnosed and treated as a dual diagnosed patient. As for filtering my voices I hear I got prescribed Aripripazole. Are they any good when it comes to hearing voices? Thank you and have a blessed day.

I’ve never heard voices but I’m on aripiprazole (Abilify). Get blood tests every 6 or 12 months as it can raise your blood sugar. I’m on metformin now for that.

They are good but it is subjective, for some people it works, others need to try other meds…
It is generally a good med for high functioning people because it is less sedative than many others.

I hear voices and have visual hallucinations and am on abilify,
Its helped a lot in some ways.
The voices are more muffled and less obnoxious, easier to tune out.
I don’t hear my name near as often.
It works different for everyone like @zeno said.

I took abilify when i first got sz. I can say i did not like it cause i felt too much out of this planet and it was cause of abilify. I remember cycling and it was as if im not in contact with earth…very uplifted. In a way it was good.
I got on zyprexa and its keeping my body calm.
But thinking back abilify did not make me mentally numb like i am now.

I love it and yes voices are less abnoxious and i am able to control myself. Yay
