Question about Apple 1st generation earphones?

You know the wireless ones? I’ve had them since 2019 when I got my iPhone 11 Pro so they’ve lasted a while but once they start screeching in one earphone are they broke? The screeching is very uncomfortable and deafening. It puts me off buying wireless earphones again. Am I better with the £19.99 wire ones?

Are they airpods? I have a pair of those they are pretty nice

For wireless earphones, five years are a very long time for them to last IMO.

@ArcSaber I have had them in my ears since 2019 when I sleep at night as they drown my voices out at night.

The 1st generation AirPods were released in 2016 & discontinued in 2019. A lot of changes & improvements have been to the 4th generation AirPods such as ANC (Active Nise Cancelling) & the USB-C connector instead of the Lightning connector. I don’t know if an Apple Care could repair the screeching noise in one of the earphones but I would purchase another pair of AirPods with ANC if you use them to drown out voices at night.

Apple AirPods are still worth the money to purchase IMHO.

As @yinyang says the upgrades on latest are really good

If they lasted you this amount of time think that’s a good investment

My earphones are changed every 3 or 4 years as I use them all the time and they get worn out

But I have over ear not ear pods
