What I’m wondering is if schizophrenia is non organic or if it is organic? Or is it somthing else?
It may not matter what your dx is. If your current meds help you function then your on the right track.
The dx is to help the psychiatrist have a good profile of you to prescribe the right treatments.
The exact diagnosis is kinda irrelevant. If your meds help you that is what really matters. I’ve had different doctors say schizophrenia, schizoaffective, psychosis and psychotic depression, the majority opinion has been schizophrenia so I go with that but my meds help so that is what matters to me.
Borderline and schizotypal can cause transient psychotic episodes. They can be intense but don’t last long enough for a diagnosis of sz. You need at least 1 month of psychosis (in one episode) for a sz diagnosis.
You’re completely correct but it’s schizotypal disorder in English. Schizotypy is a personality construct. It is similar but not exactly the same.
Non-organic. But non-organic psychosis is not a very specific diagnosis. It means there is no apparent physical cause like a tumor, a reaction to drugs, or some other somatic condition causing the psychosis.
Thanks for the information!
Thanks, its a but confusing, though… But from my own experience and symptoms schizotypal disorder is closer to schizophrenia than a personality disorder. Especially the predominance of negative symptoms.
