Psychotic 'visions'

I used to get extremely vivid ‘visions’ in my head while I was prodromal or psychotic. It felt like ideas or things that have happened or could happen downloading into my brain. VERY powerful! At one point, I thought I was Christ and that I crawled out of the grave (about 5 years ago) and the images were so vivid and so real! I also thought i was pregnant for about 5 months straight. I really believed it! Then, one day, I woke up and knew that I was NOT pregnant. I believed (and still do) that brain scientists were ‘downloading’ these images and ideas into my brain since they are so vivid.
Do you have really vivid and bright and overwhelming ‘visions’ and ideas when you’re psychotic? or is it just me?

I’ve had a few pretty extreme experiences, mostly Spiritual Visions. Are they frightening images, or something else?

Sometimes they have been a bit frightening but, usually, just overwhelming. I have even had dreams where I could fly and I had one dream where the universe talked to me in my dream. My gran delusion has made it’s way into my dreams! I have only been scared a few times. Are your episodes scary?

Some were exceptionally beautiful. One in particular was kind of horrifying. I used to get flying dreams a lot, but I don’t dream much anymore at all

Oh…I live to dream! I generally very much enjoy my dreams and I miss having dreams that are in sync with my delusion. I wish I could sleep a lot more. I miss the days when I had hypersomnia and used to sleep 12 hours a night! Now, I battle insomnia and I am lucky if I get 6 hours. I dream a lot though.

I miss dreaming a lot. Sometimes I’ll have two or three dreams in a month, but then not Dream again for two years

I have a lot of trouble with sleep too. Seems to go with the territory

Do you have insomnia? I do. I am weaning off of Xanax and it causes insomnia so sometimes I only get a few hours of sleep.

Yeah, I’ve gone for 4 days on 6 hours total. Now it’s pretty good, but it gets erratic at times. I’ll get on a good schedule for a week, then I’m up all night, then I crash for 3 Days… Repeat

We all do have similar experiences

I have visions too.
They are random in my case.

That’s exactly how I described some similar experiences when I went into psychosis.

Is anyone here familiar with the phrase "Do you want to see my red eye?’. I’ve heard several people say it, usually people in authority to a junior person, in anger. It was after I developed symptoms that I started seeing some people who seemed to have red eyes momentarily (not bloodshot, mind you. It’s as if the normally brown area is red). So, when someone mentioned it, here I think, I took notice and decided to ask.

I get really vivid visions ‘downloading’ into my brain/mind as well. You get these when you’re awake, correct? I thought North Korea was transferring these visions. Guess not.

Yes, I used to get them when I was awake. They were so vivid, it was jolting to get them. I am still inclined to believe that brain scientists were putting them in my head.

I still feel sort of that it is North Korea too but you experiencing this too sort of reassures me that it’s not real.

I had one vivid vision. I don’t remember what it was like. That was like 11 years ago.

My vivid visions are like what LSD is probably like. It absolutely feels like the brain scientists are ‘downloading’ stuff to my brain. Pictures and ideas. I wish others could experience it so they could know how real it feels.

Just remember the visions are not true.

Do you see this inside your head or outside in your environment?

I experienced both, I saw things inside and outside my head.

But the hallucinations I saw outside my head I didn’t see with my eyes, I saw them with my mind. They looked like floating heads made out of pure energy, and they were translucent. Sometimes they floated around in front of me, other times they would shoot out of peoples faces.
