strong text In recent years I have been open with the woman who I volunteer with in a hospital gift shop. I do not feel shame when talking about my diagnosis because I feel by being open then these people can learn a great deal about mental illness.

I know I blab and blab some more. But I’ve been surprised by a few of the new guys on the grounds crew who have told me openly about what’s going on with them.

I’m beginning to think to it’s our employer. The city makes a point of being equal opportunity, supportive, work/life balance, and offering work shops and hiring from various out patient programs.

So if the employer is putting out a picture that they are supporting people from all walks of life… people might not be so afraid to mention what is going on personally.
