Probe after man wrongly diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease

OMG, that would be terrible. His whole outlook on his future directly related to the false diagnosis… I’m glad he knows the truth now, though.

Physicians are educated and knowledgeable, but no one has a crystal ball and misdiagnoses are common. Not to mention, Alzheimer’s disease can only be definitively diagnosed with an autopsy.

That was good he found the right diagnosis and sad his wife wasn’t there.

Drs can make mistakes too.

This would be truly catastrophic if it were to happen to any one of us because when we are diagnosed with alzheimers, they take all of our rights away completely. That means our rights to control our finances and all our rights to make decisions for ourselves. We become completely dependent, like a child, with no way to get our rights back.

I have a friend that this happened to and it was very, very sad.

Both my parents died of brain diseases with the same symptoms as Alzheimer’s, but with different underlying mechanisms. There is a very good chance that will be what gets me.
